Luxury Turks and Caicos: The Best New and Updated Hotels

I just returned from an incredible journey through Turks and Caicos, one of my favorite Caribbean destinations (and your’s too, it’s our #1 destination in the Caribbean)—and I couldn't wait to share all the new luxury discoveries and updates with you. This island chain is made of 40 islands, 9 which are inhabited.

Turks continues to impress with its powder-soft sand, turquoise waters, and world-class resorts. If you’ve been dreaming about an escape that blends barefoot luxury with refined service, read on. This is a peek behind the scenes of the most beautiful places I stayed, toured, and loved.

I last visited the island in 2023 when the Ritz Carlton popped up, and since then, several new resorts have been added to the island. And in the upcoming year, there are more to come (read to the end, I will discuss what’s debuting in the near future)

First Stop: Rock House – Vision Come to Life

I had the pleasure of spending two nights at Rock House, part of the Grace Bay Resorts collection. My previous visit was during its construction phase, so returning to see the finished vision was nothing short of inspiring.

We stayed in a stunning two-bedroom oceanfront pool suite, which came with a large plunge pool—perfect for families or a group of friends seeking both privacy and space.

This resort is Amalfi Coast meets the Caribbean. Like many luxury accommodations in Turks and Caicos, our suite included a full kitchen and washer/dryer—an understated but invaluable convenience for extended stays.

Dinner at Vita Restaurant exceeded even the highest expectations. Their signature lemon pasta with grilled giant prawns surpassed a version I adore at a top restaurant in Rome—yes, it was that good. Guests at Rock House also enjoy shared access to world-class amenities including tennis courts, spa services, and wellness programming. The location, while close to Grace Bay (about 10 minutes away), offers a more secluded and tranquil atmosphere. Hidden nooks with sun loungers and umbrellas add to the property's exclusive charm.

CAVE BAR at Rock House

The highlight? The Cave Bar, where chic design meets elevated cocktails and small bites. And at Vita Restaurant, the lemon pasta with grilled prawns literally outdid a dish I love in Rome. Not an exaggeration.

The Strand: Low-Key Glamour on a Private Crescent Beach

Cabo Vibes with Caribbean Flair and private beach

I am OBSESSED with this CHIC laid back property! It is one of my most delightful discoveries on this trip , A proud member of Leading Hotels of the World. The Strand is tucked on the untouched southwest side of Providenciales, and is the only resort located on its private crescent-shaped beach—a rare find that instantly brought to mind the dreamy setting of Cap Juluca in Anguilla. The resort is eco-friendly to boot— it receives 75% of it’s power from the solar panels on the property.

Welcome cocktail on the beach at The Strand

The accommodations here blend understated luxury with authentic island comfort. Think crisp interiors, plush beds, and expansive terraces with ocean views. The vibe is barefoot chic, and the service is stellar—laid-back yet attentive, with staff who genuinely aim to please. It’s perfect for discerning travelers seeking privacy without pretense. Rooms can be 1 -2 or 3 bedrooms villas, and there are stand alone residences as well!

I love the reggae music and creative menu from the Mixologist at their beach bar!

South Bank: Modern Villas with Marina Lifestyle

I also visited South Bank, the newest addition to the Grace Bay portfolio. To be honest, I didn’t immediately connect with it nor fully embrace the concept for this destination—but that’s what makes these trips so valuable.

South Bank is more like a luxury marina village than a classic resort. It’s ultra-modern, with homes designed for privacy, long stays, and serious boating lifestyles. Think private docks, infinity-edge pools, and sleek interiors. It's perfect for yachting families or design-forward travelers, but maybe not for everyone. It is divided into four “neighborhoods”:

  • The Boat Houses: For nautical enthusiasts, South Bank offers 38 one- to three-bedroom residences in a village-style setting beside the marina. Boathouses feature rooftop terraces, private docks, and dedicated concierge service—perfect for sunrise views and spontaneous days on the water.

  • Ocean Estates: Travelers can choose from 19 four- to six-bedroom Ocean Estate Villas, ranging from 3,150 to 8,000 square feet. Each villa offers private pools, full ocean or beach frontage, butler service, and custom culinary and wellness experiences—all with breathtaking views from every room.

  • Lagoon Villas: This village offers a relaxed, Malibu-inspired beachfront lifestyle with three to five bedrooms, private pools, and butler service. Located on calm, protected waters—ideal for families—they feature direct beach access, secluded gardens, and some include private boat docks for seamless access to ocean adventures.

  • ARC (Coming 2026) Opening in 2026, Arc will redefine villa living at South Bank. Designed by Italian architect Piero Lissoni, this six-story oceanfront icon will feature 17 one- to five-bedroom Sky Villas with private gardens, rooftop pools or hot tubs, and floor-to-ceiling glass framing 180-degree sea views. Indoor-outdoor living reaches new heights here. The resort opens November 1, 2024, with minimal disruption anticipated for guests.**

Time to head to Private Islands: COMO Parrot Cay & Pine Cay

After exploring Providenciales, I headed to two of the most exclusive private islands in Turks and Caicos—each offering something entirely unique.

COMO Parrot Cay: Bali Vibes Without the Jet Lag

My beach front suite at Como Parrot Cay

COMO Parrot Cay has long been a go-to for celebrities and wellness lovers. In recent years it needed a refresh, and I’m thrilled to say—it’s back and better than ever.

Getting there is easy: a smooth car transfer from the airport to a private marina, then a 20-minute boat ride. I was thrilled that we were welcomed by a local dolphin and her baby when we arrived. And once you’re on the island, everything slows down in the best possible way.

Beachfront suites, garden rooms, villas—they’ve all been updated and they’re stunning. The Beach Club adds a social touch for those who want it, but many guests choose to stay in their beachfront suites with plunge pools and just... unplug.

Como Parrot Cay offers a diverse selection of accommodations featuring a total of 72 guest rooms, suites, and villas. This includes 40 rooms, 12 suites, and 20 villas, each designed to provide a luxurious and tranquil environment. The variety of options ensures that guests can find the perfect setting to relax and enjoy the stunning natural beauty of the island.

One Villa that especially impressed me was the Mechaya Beach House—a private residence with a massive pool, gorgeous art, and the biggest Balinese bed I’ve ever seen. It's $35,000 a night during Festive, and yes, some dates are still available. Here are some photos of this art drenched Villa:

Pine Cay: Gilligan’s Island with a butler, a Relais & Chateaux

Last stop, and my personal favorite, Pine Cay., a Relais and Chateaux. And I emphasize this was right for ME and my style of travel! Just because it’s my favorite doesn’t take away from the other resorts, this is why it’s so important for me to experience the options so I can match what is best for YOU and YOUR style!

Think the remote peace of Gilligan’s Island but with a butler and five star services—a place where you kick off your shoes, savor gourmet meals, and have a digital detox. If you’re from the Northeast, here’s the vibe: Parrot Cay is Nantucket, Ambergris Cay is Martha’s Vineyard, and Pine Cay is Block Island.

What sets it apart for me? I never saw another soul on the beach all day but loved socializing over cocktails and dinner with a stylish, like-minded crowd. There are only 13 rooms (max 26 guests!), so it’s truly intimate. There’s no key for your room—by design. The island is that safe. You can request one, but honestly, I loved not fumbling for a key all day.

The resort is full board (all meals are included, alcohol excluded so you can choose premium wines and top-shelf spirits à la carte), and includes daily snorkel excursions—by boat six days a week and by land on Sundays. The beach here retains its natural beauty and each room has its own umbrella tiki and chairs, so you never have to worry about where you are going to enjoy your day on the beach! The restaurant changes it’s menu daily, there is a pizza oven, and they do rotisserie chicken on Sundays!

With spots like Devil’s Cut, excellent bonefishing (yes, better than the Bahamas), and secret coves perfect for private picnics or sunset drinks, Pine Cay is an explorer’s paradise.

Imagine this entire beach….to yourself (and in January, you will see humback whales!)

A small private airstrip welcomes charter arrivals via Provo. I opted to take a short and beautiful 20 min boat ride to the island!

The island also has rustic private homes (think Block Island charm), with 4-bedroom villas starting at just $2,500/night—ideal for families, though food and resort access are separate.

Managed by the same visionary couple, Sandrine and Christian Langlade, behind the revival of Hotel Christopher in St. Barths, Pine Cay is one of the last truly peaceful places left. No TVs, strong Wi-Fi, and total digital detox potential. Heaven.

What is next for Turks and Caicos?

There are several top luxury properties on the horizon opening in this small island nation. Here is a sneak peak of what is coming down the pipeline. I am sure I will visit for work again within the next two years to keep up and learn which properties are best for our clients!
