It was recently reported that the most likely travel date for Americans to visit will be July 1st. The next deadline for announcements will be May 17th. The country is currently benefitting from a lockdown and an aggressive vaccination rollout. Because the UK is no longer part of the EU, they are more likely than other European countries to open borders as they are able to make unilateral decisions without the interference of other countries. As of today, travel the UK rules are:

  • Travelers from the U.S. must have a negative PCR test within five days of arrival in BVI. Second PCR test upon arrival and quarantine for four days at an approved Gold Seal resort or villa with limited access outside the resort. A third PCR test will be administered on day 4 and if negative the visitor will be allowed movement throughout the territory.

  • All will have to download the BVI Gateway App for contact tracing app and confirm during immigration.

  • Travelers must complete a BVI Gateway Traveler Authorization Certificate no more than 48 hours prior to arrival. The online form is here: https://bvigateway.bviaacloud.com/ There is a $175 Covid entry fee per passenger. Travelers must present a copy of the Certificate and a negative PCR test result in order to board their flight.

  • Children ages 5-9 required to get a PCR test but can use oropharyngeal. Children under age 5 will only be tested if medically indicated.

  • Travelers must show confirmation for paid accommodations for five days at a Gold Seal property upon arrival.

  • All travelers must have proof of travel insurance that specifically covers Covid-19 illness. Here is a list of approved insurance companies.
