HAVE YOU MISSED EUROPE? HERE IS AN UPDATE ON OPEN AND OPENING COUNTRIES!

Just yesterday, French President Emmanuel Macron shared great news: Americans will soon be permitted to enter France for the first time in more than a year with vaccination passports. With this exciting announcement coming from France, I want to share places that are either open now or on the near horizon of opening**

WITH GENEROUS CANCEL POLICIES AND A HIGH DEMAND FOR TRAVEL, IT IS A GREAT IDEA TO START YOUR PLANNING!

CROATIA

Master Travel will be going to this beautiful country this October! Croatia was one of the first European countries to open. Here are the rules:

  • There are a number of ways to gain entry into Croatia. You may get a negative PCR test or rapid antigen test within 48 hours of arrival. Travelers may show a valid proof of vaccination that is at least 14 days old since getting the second dose OR travelers may show proof of a positive COVID-19 test taken between 11-180 days from arrival. Finally, travelers may pay for their own test upon arrival ($130-$300) and self-quarantine to await results. If none of these applies traveler must quarantine for 10 days.

  • Must present a confirmation of paid accommodation for entire stay

  • All travelers must fill out an Enter Croatia form prior to arrival: https://entercroatia.mup.hr/

FRANCE

As Per the article sited above, Macron told Face The Nation that discussions between his administration and the White House are already underway to hammer out technicalities about travel between the two countries.

Macron said his goal is to make the upcoming tourist season “the best possible summer with the opportunity for your citizens to come to our country, because this is something we are very proud [of].”

GREECE

We wrote about Greece in last week’s blog post which you can read HERE. The rules for entry are:

  • Travelers from the U.S. may enter Greece with either proof of completion of their vaccination protocol or a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival in Greece. Children age 4 and under are exempt for the PCR test requirements.

  • All travelers must complete a Passenger Locator Form within 24 hours of arrival: FORM

ICELAND

We have been planning trips to Iceland like crazy! They are one of the first countries to accept vaccinated travelers! Here are the rules:

  • Travelers from U.S. are not allowed unless they have been vaccinated or have proof of having previously been infected with COVID-19 and recovered. The positive PCR test must be at least 14 days old. Bring your vaccination card or medical documentation of a positive PCR test and recovery. Even if the traveler has previously had COVID-19 or has been vaccinated or is a child born in 2005 or later they MUST submit to testing upon arrival and await negative results before being allowed to travel freely.

  • All travelers must fill out a digital pre-registration form no earlier than 72 hours prior to departure. The form is found here

MONTENEGRO

This country should be paired with your trip to Croatia! The landscape is stunning and the hotels are awe inspiring! Here are the rules:

  • U.S. citizens can enter Montenegro with a proof that they have been fully vaccinated at least seven days before entering, or with a negative PCR test for new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), issued by a registered laboratory and not older than 72 hours, or with a positive result of the serological test – IgG antibodies, issued by a registered laboratory and not older than 30 days or with proof that at least seven days before entering Montenegro there were vaccinated with the second dose of the new coronavirus vaccine, issued by an authorized health institution.

SLOVENIA

Pair this beautiful country with Croatia and Montenegro. It has an incredibly rich history, great wines and food, and beautiful adventurous landscape. Master Travel is visiting this country in October! Here are the rules:

  • Travelers are required to show a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours of entry. Children 14 and younger are exempt for testing requirement.

  • Travels may also avoid the 10 day quarantine requirement if they present proof of COVID-19 vaccination demonstrating that at least seven days have passed since the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine or at least 14 days have passed since the second dose of the Moderna vaccine. NOTE: Johnson & Johnson vaccine is not on Slovenia’s list of recognized vaccinations. Alternatively, proof of COVID-19 infection within the past six months and no earlier than three weeks will allow entry without quarantine.

  • This travel declaration form is not mandatory but can speed entry:

UNITED KINGDOM

It was recently reported that the most likely travel date for Americans to visit will be July 1st. The next deadline for announcements will be May 17th. The country is currently benefitting from a lockdown and an aggressive vaccination rollout. Because the UK is no longer part of the EU, they are more likely than other European countries to open borders as they are able to make unilateral decisions without the interference of other countries. As of today, travel the UK rules are:

  • Travelers from the U.S. must have a negative PCR test within five days of arrival in BVI. Second PCR test upon arrival and quarantine for four days at an approved Gold Seal resort or villa with limited access outside the resort. A third PCR test will be administered on day 4 and if negative the visitor will be allowed movement throughout the territory.

  • All will have to download the BVI Gateway App for contact tracing app and confirm during immigration.

  • Travelers must complete a BVI Gateway Traveler Authorization Certificate no more than 48 hours prior to arrival. The online form is here: https://bvigateway.bviaacloud.com/ There is a $175 Covid entry fee per passenger. Travelers must present a copy of the Certificate and a negative PCR test result in order to board their flight.

  • Children ages 5-9 required to get a PCR test but can use oropharyngeal. Children under age 5 will only be tested if medically indicated.

  • Travelers must show confirmation for paid accommodations for five days at a Gold Seal property upon arrival.

  • All travelers must have proof of travel insurance that specifically covers Covid-19 illness. Here is a list of approved insurance companies.
