As noted in my last blog post, we are seeing a trend in desire for domestic travel right now. From coastlines to big cities, the United States is made up of so many diverse destinations that it's hard to decide which places deserve the distinction of the best in America.
I have been working diligently on a plethora of domestic itineraries to inspire my clients to look right here in the US for their next destinations. This destination is near and dear to my heart on so many levels. Growing up as a very young child, we had a summer home in Banner Elk, and this is also the first place I saw snow! Start in the Berkshires and stay at a beautiful boutique property with lots of privacy. The most memorable trip I took my family on when the boys were 10, 12, and 14. We drove from Portland to Los Angeles, and stopped everywhere on the way. Some places were planned and others were spontaneous. 10 Years later it’s still the most talked about trip over the dinner table! The variety of activities and sites are endless in this beautiful area of our country. Start in San Francisco ,take a sunset sail on the bay! Next you can have an exclusive and private tour of Yosemite national park and take a private horse ride. Then head to Sonoma or Napa Valley and experience world-class wineries. With the cancelling of most large cruises to Alaska, this is the time to see it in a TOTALLY different way! You will not miss the large crowds this summer, and you may even feel you have to world to yourself! But to go to ALASKA, you have to BOOK NOW as the limited number of luxury lodges will be sold out fast. Some highlights you can experience : visit the sled dogs of the Iditarod, fly past Denali and land on a glacier, board a jet boat on a wilderness river, and explore Prince William Sound to see glaciers and wildlife. The southern peninsua of Kenai is truly magical. Here you can take a tram where you will see some of the most beautiful vistas in your life! Fish and see the Northern Lights as well.
