The Four Seasons Punta Mita (and why you need to go!)

I recently celebrated my 25th wedding anniversary with my husband, Shawn. As parents of 3 Boys, we rarely find time to get away, just the two of us, so you can imagine our excitement for this trip. After considering basically every destination possible (you know the drill), we decided to spend our 6 nights at the Four Seasons Punta Mita

Did you know?

You can now fly to Punta Mita, DIRECT, from JFK , and the flight takes the same amount of time as it takes to fly to Barbados, so why not consider a trip to this beautiful paradise East Coasters?? My Mid West and West Coast clients already know the beauty of this area, but it is not often visited by the East Coast travelers.

So what and where is Punta Mita?

Punta Mita is an area of the west coast of Mexico. It is a private, gated, secure neighborhood comprised of 3+ hotels ,gorgeous golf courses, and luxury villas. You fly to Puerto Vallarta, and the drive is about 45 mins from there.

Shawn and I carried on our luggage (I would rather do laundry than check in bags), and we paid for the airport VIP meet and greet service, which saved us literally 2 hours in the airport upon arrival. From the time we landed and got to our private transfer, only 20 mins had passed.

Amazing welcome drink, made from Mango, Orange, Pineapple, and optional tequila

Arriving a the resort

Upon arrival at the Four Seasons, we were kindly greeted by the hotel manager John + the arrival team, seated in a private space, given a welcome drink, and off we went to our Ocean Casita. The whole process was painless and quick!

The Four Seasons Punta Mita is an extraordinary Resort. There are Two beaches, four pools, 6 dining outlets, a world class spa, tennis, golf, kids and teen programs, basketball, surfing, daily included activities, and so much more. Upon arrival, you are given a schedule of the daily activities which range from various exercise classes to tequila and mezcal tastings, most are included in your stay. Each day, you can start with morning yoga, and from there you can do nothing (my top choice) or do as many of the activities you can fit into the day, it’s your trip and up to you!

Dining here was outstanding. Our favorite restaurant at the resort was Aramara, let’s call it japanese fusion. It didn’t tire us to dine here more than once because it was so hard to choose from the great selections on the menu. I highly recommend the Cauliflower appetizer, it’s incredible.

Downtown, there is an amazing selection of restaurants, so we went off-resort one night for dinner where we chose “Tuna Blanca” ( thank you to our friend & client Samantha for the great recommendation!). Tuna Blanca’s renowned chef, Thierry Blouet, has a flare for seafood with a Mexican Twist. Some may know him as the chef from Cafe Des Artistes in Cabo. The Staff are welcoming, the restaurant is charming both in it’s decor and location. We chose to sit beachside, and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. If you choose the beachside, just know you may have various locals come over to try and sell their crafts to you while you dine. If this bothers you, then sit two rows back on the lovely patio equipped with ceiling fans. We enjoyed speaking to the local children and purchased some of the items from them.

The Dessert here was a celebration, a surprise served on a mini surfboard, and complete with candy decorations acknowledging our anniversary. A couple next to us, clearly on their baby-moon, had a similar dessert with a baby carriage decoration as well.

We want to thank the Four Seasons Punta Mita for an amazing and memorable anniversary trip. It is the first time I witnessed my husband truly relax on vacation in years. The staff here are truly special as is the resort. I hope to go back some day soon!!
